Summer Plans

Hello World,

Summer is almost here and it feels good to know that school is about to end. Finally the sun is out and its time to put up all my winter clothes and let my skin soak up the sun. I just love the Summer. However, this Summer I will be taking some Summer classes. Wait, school in the Summer? Yes, you read that correctly. One thing that I have learned is that the more classes you take the quicker you will be out of college. My main goal is to finish college as a quick as possible with no delays. So whatever it takes I am going to achieve this goal. Oh but this doesn’t mean that my Summer is going to boring. Oh best believe Tieranni is going to have fun and I have feeling this is going to be the best Summer yet!

Here is a Tip:

If you Work Hard, you deserve to play hard. Take a breather and relax. Truly enjoy life or it will pass you by. Remember time waits for no one!

Finals’ Week= No sleep

Hello Again World,

As school is approaching an end, this means that finals are just around the corner. I am very nervous about the outcome of my finals. I really hope that I can have a successful conclusion to my freshman year. This would really make me feel accomplished and I would be very proud of myself. So my goal for this week is to study and really get focused. I guess this means that I will be spending another weekend at home with my head in my books. Wish me luck bloggers.

Here is a Tip:

Never wait to the last minute to start studying for your finals. Prepare Early and you will be stress free.

Semester is almost Over..YESSSS!

Hello World,

This has been an exciting first year of college. It has been filled with many ups and downs, but each moment has made this a year to remember. It started off really well I was passing all my test and quizzes. However, as the year progressed I became a little too comfortable and started to slack in some of my courses. I realized that in college you have to give a 110% just to have a successful outcome. This year has taught me a lot of things that I will use to reach all of my future goals. I still can’t believe that I am in college. It seems like just yesterday I was in high school dreaming about the college life. Wow!

Here is a Tip:

Never Give up no matter how many times you get knocked down.

Spring Break= “Aww man I forgot I was even enrolled in college”

Hello World,

It has been awhile since I have blogged with you fellow bloggers. Recently I have experienced my first spring break as my a college student. I did not go out of town or visit any beaches :( but that’s okay my break was still awesome. I was able to catch up on all my sleep. Oh yes I love to sleep, so this was the best part for me. During this break I was able to go out and party with my friends EVERYDAY and this why I totally forgot I was enrolled in college. However, reality slapped me clean in my face when I realized I had plenty of work to do and hardly anytime left to do it.

so here is a tip:

Before going on Spring Break get all of your work done and then PARTY!

Workout Week (No Pain No Gain)

Hello World,

So this week, me and my friends decided that it was time that we start working out together. I was so excited to start working out again because it has been along time since I did this much exercising. The last time I worked out was in PE class Junior year of high school. Yes, that’s a long time because I am now a Freshmen in college. I am definitely using muscles that have not been used in years and I feel the pain. However, it is fun to work out with my friends. We are working out and spending time together. Working out with my friends motivates me to keep going even when I feel like giving up. In addition to working my body, I feel like walking and exercising in City Park helps clear my head. Boy did I need to clear my head this week. This was by far the most stressful week of my life and when I’m out in the fresh air I can think about ways to solve my problems I have in school. So this is most definitely therapeutic for me.

No Sleep + No Partying= Mid term Week

Hello Out there,

So after all the fun of Mardi Gras, it is time for me to buckle down and get focused for mid terms. Mid terms are a major determining factor in your grades for the semester. Basically it will be very wise of me to take these exams seriously. So this means that it is time to put the games aside and really focus on what is important. If I do well on my mid terms, I will feel good about myself and be more confident that I could actually pass the course. I hate to fail a test and I am really hard on myself if I do. This is why I am going to study until I just can’t study any more. Studying makes me feel confident when I am about to take the test because I feel prepared. And when you feel confident about something, you do your best. I really hope that I can pass all my exams and maintain my GPA.

Here are some tips for those college students out there:

1. STUDY, STUDY, STUDY!

2. PRAY, PRAY, PRAY!

Mardi Gras Madness

Hello World,

I am here to tell you about my Mardi Gras experience this year. It was totally awesome. For all the people out there that are clueless about Mardi Gras, you are truly missing out and should plan a trip to New Orleans for Mardi Gras 2011. Mardi Gras is a part of New Orleans’ history. It is a day where you let loose and just have fun and enjoy everything the city has to offer. On this day family members and friends all get together and go to St.Charles or Canal Street to watch the parades. If you are lucky you will get a coconut from the Zulu parade.

This year I spent the day with my friends on St.Charles. Boy was that fun. We also tried Voodoo Grill on St.Charles for the first time and it was good. If you are ever in New Orleans you should most definitely try the Mojo Burger from Voodoo Grill. It was delicious! This day was filled with laughter and a lot of OMG moments. Overall I enjoyed Mardi Gras this year and the weather was PERFECT!

The 44th first Black President now the Saints win the 44th Superbowl..Coincidence or Destiny?!

Hello World,

Well I know many of you know that the Saints have FINALLY won their first Superbowl. On February 7, 2010, history was made! As a proud New Orleans native I am so happy for my team. I never imagined that the Saints would make it to the Superbowl and on top of that win. This win is not just an ordinary win, this win is a reminder to all that with hard work and dedication anything is possible. I believe that the Saints won the game because we wanted the win more and we would appreciate the win more than the Colts. And most of all we had something to prove. So many people doubted the Saints, including me, so naturally they wanted to make believers out of us doubters. I can honestly say this season has made me a true believer in the Saints. New Orleans NEEDED this win because it has been a long time since New Orleans has had positive attention. So New Orleans is most definitely loving and celebrating this win. We love and appreciate the Saints. Bless you boys! And on that note WHO DAT?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

School = STRESS!

Hello Out there,

I knew the transition to college would be fun and some what difficult but I never knew it would be so stressful. I guess I figured since I did so well in high school, college would be a breeze. When it came to test or quizzes in high school, I really didn’t have to do that much preparation. Don’t get me wrong the test were extremely hard, but I did not have to study that much and I would still make an A. However, in college, I have to over study just to get that A I desire. Yes, all the studying pays off once I receive my test or quiz back, but boy all that studying is truly STRESSFUL.

In addition to the stress of studying, there is a major stress that comes along with time managment. It seems I never have ENOUGH TIME!!!!! No matter how much I plan to designate a certain amount of time to something, it always seems like I need way more time. Well I guess this is the life of a college student.

A Heart and Prayer for Haiti

On January 12, 2010, Haiti was damaged by an earthquake. This earthquake took the lives of many Haitians and left many hopeless and in desperate need of help. The country was already in a terrible state before the quake hit. Haiti is a very poor country that lacks the basic necessities. So one can only imagine the affect this earthquake has had on the natives.
As a Katrina victim, I am very sympathetic to the victims of this unfortunate disaster. I know what it feels like to go through something that completely changes your life in one day. The only way I got through this difficult time was through the power of prayer. This is why I offer Haiti my heart and prayers.
